At Great American Motorcycle Touring, we try to make all aspects of your ride as easy and uncomplicated as possible. Not just your actual tour... but reservations and planning too. We hesitate to call what follows "The Rules" but we do have some policies designed to insure maximum enjoyment and minimal potential for confusion down the road. Since we plan our accommodations and other arrangements months in advance, this insures that our guests are given top priority and personal service from beginning to end. At registration, we ask for a deposit of $500 per person, which may be paid by check, money order, MasterCard, Visa or PayPal. Download the REGISTRATION FORM and return by fax or mail. We will also send you the form by mail or fax. If you prefer, you may contact us by phone at (800) 727-3390 to transmit credit card information. Full payment is due by the specified closing date for reservations (on the GAMCT website) for each tour. A check, money order, EFT is preferred for final payment. We will credit you up to $25.00 to cover any transfer fees charged by your bank. Cancellations - Your deposit is refundable up until the registration deadline for your tour, less a $200 fee per person. Your entire tour fee must be paid by the registration deadline. If you cancel less than 60 days but more than 30 days days prior to the tour date, we will refund 50% of the tour price. No refunds will be made for cancellations less than 30 days before the tour date. If a tour is cancelled by Great American Touring Group, Ltd. for any reason, you will receive a full refund of everything you have paid to us. Unfortunately, we cannot refund the cost of “non-refundable” airline tickets. We recommend you consider obtaining trip-cancellation insurance to cover your costs should unforeseen circumstances cause you to be unable to attend your scheduled tour, or you experience a situation which makes unforeseen expenses necessary, such as lost luggage or a need for emergency medical transportation back to your home. We will send you information about this type of insurance at the time of your reservation, or you can apply online. Tours include lodging and meals as described in the individual tours. Optional insurance (in addition the included Collision Damage Waiver) on rental motorcycles, fuel, snacks, insurance, alcoholic beverages, and incidental or personal items are your expense. Admission fees to attractions we visit as a group as a planned part of the tour itinerary are included on Signature Tours; they are additional on other tours. We're sorry, but since we make all our arrangements far in advance of the tours, we can't give refunds for meals, lodging or attraction fees not used. Further details can be seen on our "What's Included" page. |
Accommodations: "Rider - Shared Room" means you will be rooming with another rider - either a friend who comes with you, or we will try and match you with another rider. "Rider - Private Room" means one person in a room for the entire tour. Many of our selected inns, B&B's, and hotels have a no-smoking policy in guest rooms and other areas. You can ask for a smoking room, but most likely you'll have to step outside. The Tour begins on the afternoon of the arrival date and ends with dinner on the evening before the departure date. However, the final night's lodging after dinner IS included, as is transportation to the the airport for your departure the next morning. All tours will run with a maximum of sixteen and a minimum of six motorcycles, plus our tour staff. A Support Vehicle (SV) will accompany each tour and carry two pieces of luggage per person. In the unlikely event that a tour has less than the minimum number of riders, we will offer the opportunity for those registered to pay a supplemental fee before we make the decision to cancel. If you are arriving in the gateway city by air, we recommend that you schedule your arrival for late morning or early afternoon of the arrival day. Since our gateway cities are in the west, this is usually not a problem. After checking into your hotel, riders who are renting motorcycles will be taken to the rental location in the afternoon to pick up the bikes. This allows us to handle paperwork, become familiar with the motorcycles, and get an earlier start on the tour the next morning. About Motorcycles: If you are using a rented motorcycle, an additional deposit may be required. Because we work with different vendors, payment and cancellation policies vary. We will advise you of what is necessary after you have selected your tour and bike and we have confirmed availability for the days required. We can also offer recommendations and assistance for those who wish to ship their own motorcycle. Licensed riders on all makes and models of motorcycles are welcome to participate in any of our tours. However, all machines must comply with state and local laws regarding mechanical and electrical equipment and noise levels. Excessively loud pipes are not well suited for the areas and conditions where we will be traveling. Riders and passengers are responsible for their own compliance with state traffic laws and applicable regulations concerning helmets and other personal safety equipment. Great American Touring Group, Ltd. STRONGLY URGES the wearing of a helmet and safety equipment, such as abrasion-resistant clothing, gloves, boots and eye protection, AT ALL TIMES, regardless of the law.
